At the next Green Finger Tips Gardening Club meeting on Thursday 6th March, Peter Mathers will be talking about the Royal Gardens of Europe. Peter’s interest in plants and gardens has led to visits to gardens of all shapes, sizes and heritage throughout the UK and Europe. His talk about Royal Gardens will cover, among others, Eltham Palace, Potsdam, Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna and Goldsborough Hall, the home of Mary, Princess Royal in the 1920s, the incredible flowers in the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken in Brussels and Osborne House.
Peter is an interesting and accomplished speaker (a national speaker for the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies) with plenty of lovely pictures to illustrate his talks. We know from previous talks to us we will have a good evening.
We look forward to seeing you all then. If you’ve any friends who might be interested in coming along please invite them, they’ll be very welcome.
Would you like to know how other Members tackle some of the gardening questions you’ve been pondering?
At each of the last two meetings we’ve had a brief but interesting and worthwhile discussion about when and how to prune a Magnolia and how to deal with slugs and snails! Ther will be another opportunity to do this on the 6th March so please let us have your questions a few days before. If you were perhaps able to send a photo or two that we can put up on screen to help the discussion.
This talk is free to Members and £3 pp for guests. Why not join the Club? It only costs £12 pa.
